UTRCA Tree Planting/Live Staking - Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 9:30AM to 12:00PM

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) is looking for extra hands to plant live willow stakes along Medway Creek on farmland near the corner of Richmond Street and Medway Road.

The work involves hammering live willow stakes into the banks which will aid in erosion control. The process is called "live staking" and for a more detailed description click here.

You should bring waders (optional but recommended), gloves, a hat and appropriate clothing for conditions.

If you are interested, please RSVP directly to April Scholz of the UTRCA. They will provide you the exact address, parking information, and health and safety information.

Please consider helping out; even if you can only show up for an hour or two it would mean a lot!
